Busy first week of March

Mark your calendars:

March 5: Kane County Republican Convention, 7 p.m. , Riverside Receptions, 35 N. River Lane, Geneva

March 6: Aurora Township Republican Central Committee meeting, 7 p.m., Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center, Aurora

March 8: GOTV, all day, polling places and Una Voz, 22 E. Downer Place, Aurora

On March 5, elected precinct committeemen will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for the executive committee of the Kane County Republican Central Committee. Please make an effort to attend this event, as we need a quorum to vote in new officers.

On March 6, chairman Bill Wyatt will begin announcing appointments to open precinct committeemen posts. We'll also formalize the strategy for GOTV on March 8.

On March 8, we need all of our Republicans working together to make sure votes are cast for US Congressional candidate Jim Oberweis. Una Voz will be the headquarters for pollwatchers to deliver information and make calls in Aurora to those Republicans who haven't cast a ballot.

New Officers Elected

The Aurora Township Republican Central Committee elected new officers at its Feb. 7, 2008 meeting at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center in Aurora.

Elected were:

Bill Wyatt, Chairman
Henry Treftz, Vice Chairman
Greg Meyers, Treasurer
Penny Falcon, Secretary

Amended standing rules were also approved.

The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6 at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center in Aurora.
