Cinco de Mayo fundraiser

The May 2008 meeting of the Aurora Township Republican Central Committee has been canceled. Precinct committeemen are urged to attend the Cinco de Mayo fundraiser being held the evening of May 1 at La Quinta de los Reyes on New York Street in Aurora. The event is sponsored by the Kane County Chapter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly. For tickets, call Gabriela Wyatt at 630-72-6436.

April Township Meeting

Chairman Bill Wyatt has called the Aurora Township Republican Central Committee to meet at 7 p.m. April 3 at Luigi's Pizaa and Fun Center on Prairie Street in Aurora.

The Aurora Election Commission will be training precinct committeemen and assistant precinct committeemen on registering people to vote.

Busy first week of March

Mark your calendars:

March 5: Kane County Republican Convention, 7 p.m. , Riverside Receptions, 35 N. River Lane, Geneva

March 6: Aurora Township Republican Central Committee meeting, 7 p.m., Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center, Aurora

March 8: GOTV, all day, polling places and Una Voz, 22 E. Downer Place, Aurora

On March 5, elected precinct committeemen will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for the executive committee of the Kane County Republican Central Committee. Please make an effort to attend this event, as we need a quorum to vote in new officers.

On March 6, chairman Bill Wyatt will begin announcing appointments to open precinct committeemen posts. We'll also formalize the strategy for GOTV on March 8.

On March 8, we need all of our Republicans working together to make sure votes are cast for US Congressional candidate Jim Oberweis. Una Voz will be the headquarters for pollwatchers to deliver information and make calls in Aurora to those Republicans who haven't cast a ballot.

New Officers Elected

The Aurora Township Republican Central Committee elected new officers at its Feb. 7, 2008 meeting at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center in Aurora.

Elected were:

Bill Wyatt, Chairman
Henry Treftz, Vice Chairman
Greg Meyers, Treasurer
Penny Falcon, Secretary

Amended standing rules were also approved.

The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6 at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center in Aurora.

December Central Committee Meeting

The Aurora Township Republican Central Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center on Prairie Street in Aurora.

We'll be discussing the Special Election to fill the unexpired seat of Congressman Dennis Hastert, as well as the upcoming Primary Election. We'll also be sharing details on how to write-in as a candidate for Precinct Committeeman.

If you haven't circulated petitions for the coming Primary, remember they must be turned in by Nov. 5 this year.

If you have circulated petitions, be sure to bring them so you can get them notarized. Penny will be bringing her notary stamp.

We'll also be recapping highlights from the Aug. 22 Aurora Township Republican Roundup. And we'll betaking stock of the Precincts that need committeemen and talking strategy about filling all of our committeemen slots this election.
